GruvXpress (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

• Account information — your name or username, and email address, provided when you register.
• Payment information — when you subscribe or donate, payment is processed by Paystack. We do not collect or store your card details on our servers. We receive only a confirmation, your subscription tier, and a transaction reference.
• Usage data — listening activity, song requests, chat messages, and leaderboard stats used to operate community features.
• Technical data — basic device and connection information needed to deliver the audio stream.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and subscription tier.
• To deliver the audio stream, live chat, song requests and leaderboard features.
• To process payments and apply tier benefits or donations.
• To run airtime giveaways and community rewards.
• To respond to support requests and send essential service notices.

3. Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run GruvXpress:

• Paystack — payment processing.
• Appwrite — secure database and authentication.
• AzuraCast — audio streaming.
• Make.com — connecting payment confirmations to your account.

We never sell your personal information.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information except where we are required to retain transaction records for legal and accounting purposes.

5. Your rights under POPIA

6. Security

Account credentials are stored using encrypted storage, and all data is transmitted over secure connections. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
